Frequently Asked Questions - Adoption. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Below we have listed the most common questions we get asked by people who are starting to consider adoption. If there is a question you would like to ask that is not on this list please call us on our Freephone 08000 730 418 or on 020 - 8356 - 6266 and we will do our very best to provide an answer for you. Are there any age limits for potential applicants ? No. We look at the age of the applicants and consider their medical history, fitness and lifestyle. As a very rough guide you should consider applying to adopt a child that is no more than 40 years younger than you or your partner. We do have a number of babies that become available to adopt and a larger number of toddlers. However we would also ask you to consider adopting children of older ages and sibling groups who need adoptive families just as much as younger children. Once you have had an initial visit and it is agreed that an asessment will be carried out it is our aim to complete the assessment including taking part in a preparation group within four months. Occasionally it may take up to six months depending upon your circumstances. |
